Go The !@#$% To Sleep

That phrase has been muttered around our house a lot lately.  We don't know what's up, but a certain member of our family has decided it's a good idea to stay awake until 11:00 for the past week or so, even though his bedtime is 7:30. He doesn't seem bothered by this; in fact he's very energetic and happy about it, unlike us.

He's still in a crib, so he can't go anywhere, but he's loud and it's hard to relax with Reagan O'Neil in the next room. We've tried everything.  Let him yell until he falls asleep. But he can yell for hours, literally. Go in and give him a cuddle?  Last night he interpreted that to mean that it was time to play Thumbkin, sing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider", and sign "all done" to indicate sleep time was over.  We've tried sleepy sack on, sleepy sack off; nightlight on, nightlight off, a bath before bed, no bath before bed, tire him out before bed, wind him down before bed, nap, no nap.  Nothing that has worked before works now.  He's not unhappy, just wide awake.

Maybe the solution is to bring him to the pub every night.  Look how peaceful he is here.

And look how relaxed we are.
